About Unstuck

Unstuck is the app for ADHD waiting mode — built by a solo founder with ADHD, in Phoenix, Arizona, because the existing tools weren't solving the actual problem: knowing what's safe to start before your next commitment.

Why Unstuck exists

Waiting mode is the ADHD experience where a commitment later in the day — a 3pm call, an appointment, a pickup — makes it hard to start anything beforehand. I live with this. I'd sit down to work with two hours free, and instead of starting something, I'd watch the clock, half-start things I couldn't finish, and end up doing nothing until the thing I was waiting for finally happened.

Every planner and to-do app I tried assumed the hard part was deciding what to do. It wasn't. I already knew what needed doing — the hard part was trusting that I'd actually start it and stop in time to leave. Task lists don't solve that. The clock matters more than the task list. That insight is the whole product: Unstuck watches the clock for you and tells you what's safe to start in the gap you actually have.

Built in Phoenix, Arizona

Unstuck is built by a solo founder based in Phoenix, Arizona. The product itself is remote-first — it works the same for anyone, anywhere, since all it needs is read-only access to your Google Calendar. Being based in Phoenix just means that's where the work happens; it doesn't change who the product serves.

How it works

  1. 1. Gap detection. Unstuck reads your next 8 hours of Google Calendar events and finds the open window before your next commitment.
  2. 2. Safe-to-start scoring. Each task gets scored against that gap — Safe to Start, Pausable, or Risky — so you start the one that actually fits.
  3. 3. Hard stop. A persistent notification fires at T-15 and T-5 minutes before your event, so you don't have to watch the clock yourself.

See it without signing up on the interactive demo, or read the full pattern on the waiting mode page.

What's true about the product

  • Read-only Google Calendar access — Unstuck never creates, edits, deletes, or shares your calendar data.
  • Free tier with no credit card required.
  • About 2 minutes to set up.
  • Works alongside any task manager you already use — Unstuck doesn't replace your to-do list, it tells you when to start from it.
